Orange Tim – Despatches from Agent Orange

It’s a big change from turning up and sitting in front of a microphone and talking but Orange Tim was prepared for a new challenge. For November, he was recording a daily podcast for NaPodPoMo and is even now talking about a weekly podcast after that.
Orange TIm’s shows are a mixture of historical episodes, rants, behind the scenes in his job as a nurse and his volunteer role within the NSW State Emergency Service and a lot more.
He received some excellent feedback from his listeners who enjoy his style of episode. Even though he hates editing and declared war on Nannapoopoo towards the end of the month, Tim has proven that he is more than simply a “Professional Podcast Guest”.
Stay tuned to Erk Pod for more information about what Tim will do with “Despatches from Agent Orange” beyond November.
Below are links to each day’s audio for November. Show Notes for each day follow.
Note that on some episodes, listener discretion is advised due to mature themes and content.

Despatches from Agent Orange – 25 minutes
Agent Orange goes back in time for this mission and explores some Australian military history. However before leaving base in his <insert name here of a very popular & well known time machine from a BBC TV show>, Agent Orange goes through all the comments and email he’s received thus far!
Agent Orange raises the bar (in his own opinion) in this despatch and dips into his numerous and rather dusty, SFX files!

Episode 7
“Hallo! My name’s Inga, and I’m from Sweden! This is my brother Lars. We drive Volvos!” Errrr, sorry about that. Don’t know where they came from, however, Agent Orange also drives “A Bloody Volvo” and he’s right bloody proud of it too! In this podcast I look at Volvo, it’s history, motor racing, safety innovations and what makes it what it is today.

Agent Orange would like to take this opportunity to say a big “G’Day!” to his Swedish “sisters” Mia and Daniella from Stockholm. They’re very proud of Agent Orange’s Volvo, just like he is. :)

Special thanks to Robin, Princess, Banshee and MIL.

Episode 8
“Come ‘n listen to a story about a man named Jed, a poor mountaineer, barely kept his family feed. Then one day he was shootin’ at some food and up from the ground came a bubblin’ crude! Oil that is! Black Gold! Texas Tea!”
Today I look at oil! Crude oil to be precise, along petrol, diesel, taxes, excise, pump prices, resources, revenue and a whole lot more! This was a very challenging topic to cover and probably deserves a longer podcast, however there is just so much information, and a fair bit of spin too, out there. Enjoy! I hope you find it informative!
Special thanks to the Agent Orange Family.

A less than helpful roster has thrown a spanner into the works for my NaPodPoMo despatches. I recorded this podcast on my mobile phone, so quality is not the best and there is no intro music etc. Just me talking into my mobile and hopefully not boring the crap out of you all.
The despatch I wanted to do for #11, will take more time than usual in recording and in post production than I have available to me at the present time. Thanks loads work! Grrrrrr

Despatches from Agent Orange – Despatch 16. 22 minutes
Agent Orange opens up his audio recordings vault and shares some emergency services recordings!
Due to the nature of some of the recordings, audio quality is not of the usual “high” standard and there is some back ground noise/buzz/radio hiss.
No more show notes, it’s late and I’m tired! ;)

Yes, it’s Despatch #18 of Despatches from Agent Orange! Another rushed podcast, but doing 30 podcasts in 30 days kinda demands that! LOL! Agent Orange looks very briefly as to way the colour orange is part of him, a very brief history on the NSW SES and a chat about NSW SES deploying to South East Queensland to assist in the storm salvage operation there.

Despatches from Agent Orange – Despatch 21. 62 minutes
Agent Orange dives in the history books agin to bring the story of HMAS Sydney (II)
Originally meant for release on 19th November 2008, it was held back a view days, due to unforeseen circumstances.
HMAS Sydney (II) was a Modified Leander Light Cruiser of the Royal Australian Navy during the Second World War. Her sinking and loss of all hands stunned the nation and her whereabouts remained a mystery until March 2008.
This despatches covers Sydney’s short, but stunning WWII career, her final battle with the German raider HSK Kormoran and her discovery in 2008.

Regarding Electric Cars.
I’m betting the ‘infastructure’ that G-Wiz are talking about is just 2 power points on the corners of random streets in London that nobody uses. I don’t live in London, but the last time I was there I didn’t see any ‘infastructure’ there.
The buses here in Bath also run on LPG.
