Erk Presents Pacific Highway Roadwork – VIDEO

Here’s a couple of scenes from roadwork on the Pacific Highway during my roadtrip. The highway is the main connection between Sydney and Brisbane and is being upgraded, ever so slowly. A lot of work has been done but there is a lot of work still to be done. Here are a couple of examples of roadwork, traffic control and more.

  1. Amazing how many people were speeding through that work zone. People do that here, as well. Out here, if they get caught, there can be huge fines involved.

Nice to see I am not the only one interested in filming road work.

There can be big fines here as well for speeding in a work zone. Having said that, I can understand why some people do speed in these zones as often, there are no workers in the zone, there’s no changes to conditions but the workers simply haven’t covered the signs up when they aren’t there. This often happens on weekends and at night. If they are working or there are major changes to the road conditions (for instance, narrower lanes), I’m all for reduced limits but if there isn’t, it should be normal speed.
