Recently I decided to take photos of trains at speed and rather than freeze them in time and be razor sharp, I thought I’d show them at speed. I decided to do this again tonight after driving my final train for the night. The train was a westbond container train at Lidcombe.
In the first shot, you can clearly see that it is a freight train. But in the second shot, you might not know that it is a freight train passing by if I did not tell you.
I want to continue this type of photography with different types of trains at different locations at different times of the day. These photos were taken in darkness.
The effect that I wanted to achieve is that the platform and the platform markings and tactile tiles remain in focus and unblurred while the train zooms by.
